#RAM IDLE INSTALL#

2008 - 2010 Ford 6.4 Dual Alternator Conversion to single Alternator. So, unused RAM is wasted RAM because all it takes to de-allocate a page is to mark it as "unused", and takes literal microseconds. This also makes it possible to move unused pages to persistent storage when the RAM fills up, in order to speed up the system and make it not crash when the RAM gets filled up (as the memory allocator would have no more memory to give to programs). It's this fast because computers divide the RAM address space in pages (on x86 it's 4KiB each, while on other architectures it can be higher/lower, for example ARM allows for 4/16/64KiB pages), and every app, when it needs some more RAM, requests one or more pages. The cache is super fast because all the memory allocator has to do is to mark the portion of memory used by the cache as "unused", and it can be overwritten by apps very easily.
#RAM IDLE FULL#
Unused RAM isn't all full of zeroes, it has actual (discarded) data on it, which is why in low level programming there is a concept called Undefined Behaviour. What i said is that people didn't understand it then, and still don't understand it now. You aren't pulling anything, it's already there, just a memory copy away (because you need to put apps in a randomized address space because security (look up Address Space Layout Randomization)). You 100% can save more resources on your computer. I have 32gbs of ram on windows 11 and use at 12gbs max while gaming and having Netflix along with 5+ tabs for work and discord up(3 monitors). Message me if you want to lower your ram usage. Microsoft puts way too many services and apps that are running in the background for no reason that need to be removed.įirst thing I’d do is run this debloat tool (I used a similar one for all the pcs we build for work) and remove all background processes and apps you aren’t using and please Disable telemetry (Microsoft doesn’t need to record and transmit everything you do). I’ve been in IT for 15 years and there are multiple ways to lower your ram usage.
#RAM IDLE HOW TO#
It’s crazy that no one on here even tried to tell you how to lower your ram usage… everyone is just saying it seems right.
#RAM IDLE PC#
Yes these people are correct if you do absolutely nothing to your pc it is normal to take up that much ram but this can easily be reduced.
